      ‘Freddy’ is called a piston-cylinder.

      He (because all laboratory equipment has their own personality!) takes my tiny sample and puts it under extreme temperature and pressure to recreate conditions within the Earth’s interior – only instead of looking inside the Earth I am interested in what happened inside the Moon.
